Citi joins eFX trading in a single platform Velocity 3.0

Velocity 3.0 is compatible with all major operating systems and can also be accessed via any browser. Citi describes the new single dealer platform as “platform-independent technology.”

Citi noted that Velocity 3.0 is 71% faster with deal booking and 94% faster with order placement response compared with Citi’s classic platforms.

In a statement, the global investment bank explained that consolidating its eFX trading platform into one platform addresses issues such as liquidity availability, operational resilience, and transparency that result from fragmentation in eFX services.

Jon Lofthouse, Global Head Markets Technology, Citi, also added:

Velocity 3.0 solves this problem, by delivering Citi’s best-in-class eFX offerings for clients via a single point of integration. High-performance streaming libraries are available through HTML 5 and the unified enterprise infrastructure. These libraries enhance real-time data display and allow for one-click execution registrations. Velocity 3.0 leverages cloud technology and Micro Front Ends. Citi can respond quickly to client feedback by implementing agile and scalable solutions.
